The kind people from Voya, in Sligo sent me on a product of theirs to try-Voya Lazy Days Seaweed bath. I have always been interested in trying seaweed products, given that seaweed is noted as being particularly good for people who have eczema and psoriasis (that would be me then). There are a number of benefits from using this product, so don’t discount it if you don’t have eczema or psoriasis. Here are just some of the benefits:
VOYA Lazy Days seaweed bath:
- Naturally soothes & moisturises
- Helps against the signs of ageing
- Natural anti-cellulite properties
- Improves suppleness and elasticity of skin
- Traditionally used in the care and repair of the skin
- Cleanses and purifies
- Tones and stimulates the skin
- Boosts thyroid activity
So, what can you expect when you get your Lazy Days box?
The Lazy Days seaweed bath contains organic, harvested dehydrated seaweed, and comes in a beautiful brown and green box, as you can see above. The seaweed itself is contained in a net bag, with Dead Sea salts, that are wrapped up in plastic. The great thing about the netting, is that you get to have a seaweed bath without the mess, as you simply remove the net bag from your bath after use. There is also a separate bag of Dead Sea salts included, as you can re-use the seaweed, within 3 days, if you store it after initially using it.
What’s it like in the bath?
Once you put the seaweed into hot water, the seaweed begins to re-hydrate and look like, well, seaweed again
The seaweed turns the water a yellow-green colour, once left to steep for awhile. Now, I’m going to be honest here-one thing I wasn’t prepared for was the smell. I was expecting a smell reminiscent of a walk along the beach or a salty smell. Oh, how wrong I was!!! The smell was a little off-putting, as it was quite pungent and strong. I forgot that seaweed has high levels of iodine, so I imagine that this is where the smell came from. At this stage, I was having my doubts about following through and getting into the bath, as I really didn’t want to be smelling like that for the day, or have to go for an additional bath/shower to get rid of the smell from my skin. However, I gave it a go-sure, if Jedward managed to do it, then I certainly could too
Thoughts and impressions
I had a good long soak in the bath, and while soaking, I must say that I thought my skin was quite soft. After the bath, I was left with lovely soft skin, and thankfully, the smell of the seaweed did not transfer. I forgot to mention that I didn’t use any other product than the ones that came in the kit, so as I could really see the after effects of the seaweed bath. This morning my skin was still soft, and my psoriasis (which during the cold winter months can be quite red), was a dull pink colour and look much improved.
I’m going to give it another try, and see if I notice any additional benefits from using it. So far, my opinion of the Lazy Days seaweed bath is a positive once. Voya Lazy Days seaweed bath can be bought from the Voya website for 16.00euro.
Have you ever tried this product or gone for a seaweed bath?

I had one of these Voya seaweed bath in Strandhill and found the whole experience great. I’ve wanted to get their home kit for while now…. Where do u store it for another use?
I just removed the net bag from a bath and put it into a empty plastic basin. After it had sat there for awhile, I empted out the water, so as it could dry properly and covered the basin with some clingflim. This kept is fresh and allowed me to get a second use from it.
What was the seaweed bath like in Strandhill???
I had it last winter and it was lovely. You get into a cosy room, where you have a sauna and a bath. They recommend to get in the sauna first, open the pores and then use the seaweed bath. Only one thing i didnt like: you have to clean up your seaweed after – take it from the tub and placing it in a bucket. I was soo relaxed and mellow, that was the last thing on my mind
)
Oh, that sounds nice! It makes since to open up your pores first, so as you get maximum impact from the bath. Should have taught of that myself and taken a hot shower before getting into the bath.
Agree with you on having to clean up after yourself. Certainly puts a dampner on the experience.
