I really like prints at the moment, but it can be really hard to find a flattering print that won’t dominate you. I got an email from Dorothy Perkins in my inbox (I sign up for lots of online shop newsletters, in order to find out about sales and get discount codes) and fell in love with these beauties……

I really like this floral twist bandau top-the print has a vintage-y feel about it which I love, and isn’t too big. The top is £12.00 (god knows what the instore price will be though), which seems reasonable. This top would be great day-time look if paired with a cardigan over it, or at night when worn on its own with the right accessories.

I also like the black swallow print on this top-which again could be worn during the day or at night-time. This top is also £12.00.

I haven’t bought these online, as I prefer to try things on before buying them and don’t want to waste time and money returning them if I didn’t like them. I will however, be on the look-out for them instore. I would greatly appreciate if anyone spots them instore and is kind enough to let me know.

Do you like prints??? What prints do you love/hate? Personally, I abhor animal prints!!!

Is it possible to be in love with a dress…. because I think I might be with this one June 26, 2010

I recently realized that, while I love all things fashion-related just as much as love all things beauty related,  I don’t blog about fashion-ny things as much. So, I’m going to try rectify this as soon as possible. I saw this dress on the river island website and fell in love with it. It is definitly on my to-buy list. As far as I can remember, it retails for £36.99 pounds which when converted to euro in-store, it will probably retail at 60+ euro!

Anyway, that rant is for another day….

I really like the floral trend that is everywhere this summer and think that this dress is, as Goldilocks would say, is just right! It’s not too patterned and has a lovely sophisticated, vintage feel about it.  I really like it’s length too. I like Maxi dresses but the majority are sometimes too long, that the hem ends up being dragged along the floor and gets ruined, when you wear it. I don’t think that this would happen with this dress.

UPDATE

I spotted this in River Island recently during one of my treks to the shops and was majorly disappointed!!! When I tried it on, the material was extremely clingy with lots of lycra which wasn’t very forgiving. Also, the material was COMPLETELY  transparent under the lights of the dressing room. It would require some sort of slip (shudder the thought of going back to those days) underneath, if you didn’t want your underwear on display or weren’t comfortable with baring all. I promptly put it back on the rack!
